I'm catholic and i believe God created the world we live in today.. they're isnt really much evidence i can give you except its been written in the Bible. yes the bible has been rewritten countless times but this is the story that remains intact and not changed. God created the universe in 6 days. the seventh (sunday) was his day of rest.

whats your feeling about this and why

agreed. their shouldn't have to be evidence. religion is based on faith, not factual, physical evidence. personally i know people that have had experiences confirming their own faith in God.

yeah thats called confirmation.. i've had it too.. and if a religion wasnt real it wouldn't have so much physical evidence as the christian or catholic faith does.. the places the bible talks about EXISTS. there are markings of jesus *the cloth he was buried in*. the original bible was wrote by people who lived in Jesus' time. the original writings of matthew mark luke and paul was written less then 100 years of jesus's death. i think it was around 40 years

I'm atheist. I believe in the power of faith, and think that the Bible set up a good moral codex for our ancient ancestors and provided eloquent explanation for the seemingly divine phenomena to people of the time. However, in my opinion, just like paganism became an obsolete belief system with the coming of Christianity, I think organized religion and faith in a supreme being is becoming obsolete with the coming of science. We now can explain why it rains, where humans came from, the actual age of the earth, and how the Universe was created. True, some of this is conjecture (Big Bang), but to me it is logical conjecture as opposed to religious faith, and to me that is far more convincing. I guess you can say that logic, reason, and science are my god, because I have great faith in those 3 things combined and their ability to explain the world around me.

I don't mean to insult anyone in this post, and if I have then I'm sorry.

I’m a Roman Catholic, I believe in God, but my beliefs are a bit different than what the Bible says, I believe that God created the universe but I don’t believe god created the world in a week (6 days + 1 day for rest) I believe he created the universe as the big bang, reason being is he wanted to test people’s faith in whether they believe the scientific theory or whether they believe in him despite what science has to say. Reason the Bible says a week, well remember the bible has been rewritten/retold especially the old testament several times. And in some stories told several times before it was written down, plus we don’t know who wrote some of the stories, so the possibility of some of the stories being stretched or interpreted from one language to another is wrong, is out there.

As far as evidence, well obviously there is no hard core evidence, but talking about the old testament, there is some soft evidence that some of the stories and places it talks about actually happen, like Noah’s flood, the Ark actually existing, or that town that was so evil god destroyed it (forgot name), from the Ark of the Covenant still existing in hiding to the Holy Grail existing, just soft evidence.

What I like to keep in mind is God acts in mysterious ways…

I'm a strong believer in the power of science and the planet. If I had to claim any religion, I'd say Ancient, from FF7.

But yea, thats not really about gods so much as the planet's own spirit.

RD, the idea behind the Big Bang is like this:

Let's take the sun. Its density is average for a star. Now let's make it many suns, and compress them all into one. Now, let's make this super sun millions of times smaller. It becomes a black hole, a form thought to be very small and extremely dense, enough so that it affects gravity so much that once light enters the vicinity of a black hole, it gravitates towards it and can never escape. Imagine a few thousand black holes, compressed even more into an even smaller object. If we did it once, we can do it again, right? Well, this time, the object will be similar to that of the Big Bang, and the chances are that it will explode eventually from overbearing density, spreading out into the uncompressed trillions and trillions of particles that it was once made up of. Makes sense?

Right now i have the vote at

Sorry I didn't outright state which I voted for. Thats why I hate polls for topics like these.

I'd rather just read comments.

Regardless, I believe that science can explain every single happening in the universe.

Don't quote the bible if you don't know what your saying, actually if your going to quote, quote correctly. Its....

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

And so on.
