I'm asking you because if you believe in God, you should be able to explain anything that God did because of the Bible, or use your faith and logic to derive an explanation. Or, not have one and prove that there is no reason for your belief.

And for those who are afraid of death. ;)

EDIT By Sorc:: Uneccessary comment. No value and insulting towards RD. Did not change original post.

Our proof that he didn't do it is because he doesn't exist. There is no proof that he did it, there is no proof that he exists; so we use what does exist - science and logic.

our proof that he did exist is because you have no proof that he didnt exist

Er, so you are saying that just because we can't prove something doesn't exist that you believe it does? I can't prove that five footed ten eyed dragon monkeys never existed, so that gives you reason to believe in them? Ridiculous.

You believe because of faith, not because others don't have it. Get your argument straight :P.

Speak for yourself - I never argued that there is no god. I'm arguing that he didn't create life on earth, because science has a much more believable explanation.

i believe in faith yes but if your gonna come out and say wheres the proof that this that and blah blah well i got some proof that Jesus rose from the dead. they wrapped him in cloth and when they went to his tomb in MODERN day there was no body. just cloth with jesus's imprint???

but getting back on to the topic of God, i believe in God because of faith, you say he doesn't exist and that none of his accomplishments exist. well wheres your proof that he didnt exist?

What prevents that tomb from being fake? What prevents people from just putting a cloth in a tomb and saying "This is where Jesus came back to life!" ?

By the way, they found out that Jesus's veil with his face on it was a fake a few years ago - it was painted on, and the carbon dating showed it was no where near 2000 years old.

Alright, I got ahead of myself, as Camel said. I can't prove he doesn't exist no more than you can prove he does exist, but I can prove that he didn't do many of the things he is credited for.

Evolution could prove that. Primates, as in our ape brothers, tended to have more elaborate bone structures. they used to have a full chest plate of bone which turned into ribs, then that slowly got smaller as evolution weeded out un-needed organs/parts.

Scientific fact cannot be wrong, because its fact. Granted, if for some reason down the road, we found the earth rotated around a small piece of metal that orbits the sun, and not the sun itself, thats a mistake.

im talking about the one that the History Channel reported on and they did a carbon dating ON THE CHANNEL and it was nearly 2000 years old

Actually, that isn't true. Scientific facts are called scientific facts because they are based on the principles of science, just as mathematical proofs are based on mathematical axioms. As I explained earlier, you wont find anyone who will argue against a mathematical axiom, but in the realm of science, the basis is much less concrete.

There is no such thing as fact in science. The most you can do is repeatedly prove that something works. Even in that case, I'm sure you have not tried all the millions or billions of possible different factors that could affect it. The most science can have is a strong theory.

By the way, I'm done with the whole prove God exists thing, I'm not commenting on it any more. I've said what I need to say, if you've read the thread you've seen it. I don't feel the need to prove my faith period, to be honest. And I know that's not what this thread was for anyway.

As far as proving that something doesn't exist, in the realm of debate and logic it is impossible. This isn't my area of expertise, but from what i understand/remember from a few philosophy electives, the burden of proof would lie with one who is trying to prove that something does exist. Proving that something does not exist is impossible.

But when the discussion goes to a topic as obscure as God it's really more of a personal belief since there's no way to prove either standpoint and nobody here is going to be able to change anyone else's mind.
