Worth it?
« on: May 25, 2008, 12:17:52 AM »
Should i buy SC? I used to have it when i was little and i lost it, and i don't know if i should re-buy it, or just wait it out for SC2.

Pros-
Fun to play, even vs. computers
Love the game
Get me prepared for SC2
Cons-
Is it all empty except for Bots and stuff? Or are there still people playing?

And out of curiosity, SC2 will be able to be run on Mac and windows right? Similar to how one Wc3 disk works on Windows and mac?

Buy it. It can't be more than $10. People still play.

I don't see any reason why they wouldn't release for both at the same time. If not, expect a mac release soon after.

Well, Wc3 you can buy on CD and that single CD works on both mac AND windows. So i was wondering if it would be the same SC2. I hope so, because you can't imagine how hard it is to find games that run on mac.... Only 2 places to really find games for mac is the Mac store and internet sites.

Just check the system requirements when it comes out. If it says mac or windows, then you can expect it'll come with a dual-os cd/dvd.

You need to get BroodWar to get the full experience. There are like 10 times more people on BroodWar, the depth of strategy is greater, and there is also a higher level of competitive play. With Original you will never get that good and you won't have the opportunity to play much unless you have friends. Also, stay away from fastest possible map games and BGH, they make you suck.

If you're looking for a game on a non-money map, you can message me, my name is KoreanGrandma and I'm on pretty often.

But you should get BW to play with me more often ;p

Ignore Sorc he's noob n_n

It depends on the player :p BW is pretty damn balanced, probably the most balanced RTS with unique units.

EDIT: Add me as KoreanGrandma and message if you want to play.

BW is actually awesome sorc. Its just a pain in the ass, and a bit more stressful than SC.

Deeper strategy, more unit counters to remember, detection, higher level of competitive play <3

Damn, I live in New Zealand and I saw SC + BW (The battle chest pack) for $59.95.

Electronic games are really exepensive.. D2 + LoD are $99.95 and WC + TFT (Bnet chest) is $110.95.

Despite the exchange rate, that still seems very expensive.

i bought Wc3 and TFT separately (TFT wasn't out when i got wc3), and i bought the special edition RoC for $80, and TFT for $35. Thats $115 right there. Then take into account that i got the special edition, battle chests are typically cheaper, and its been a few years since then, and thats quite expensive.
