Rank List(s)

In an effort to break away from the military's rank structure, Camel asked me to come up with a rank list. Instead I came up with several. Here is the first one, based on Starcraft units:

Civilian (friend of the clan, rank 1)
Drone Probe or SCV? (New Recruit) (10 and counting)
Zergling (11)
Marine (12)
Zealot (13)
Firebat (14)
Hydralisk (15)
Dragoon (16)
Lurker (17)
Medic (18)
Ghost (19)
Goliath (20)
Dropship (21)
Ultralisk (23)
Mutalisk (24)
Wraith (25)
Scout (26)
Arbiter (27)
Templar (28)
High Templar (Co-Leader 29)
Archon (Leader 30)
Dark Archon (Bot Master 31)

Since February 22, 2002

Some of them don't work so well, but others do. The order definitely needs to be re-thought; there's no chance a Dryad is going to be above a Red Dragon, for example.

Names I like:
Archer, Rifleman, Headhunter, Knight, Tauren, Sorcerer, Lurker, Templar
It's like saying, "Hello, my name is Camel and I don't know what I'm talking about."

BNU isn't the military. Ranks are made up words that are given meaning. I could call you a shoe, and we could say Shoe = 22

But arbitrarily, I could make 22 the starting rank, and make 21 the leader rank, and 23 the newb rank.. There is no set structure man. Don't let ANY organization ever tell you they're the only ranking system ever.

Well good job for being more original than other clans that just copy the army rank system, lol I even seen some clans that can't even copy the army rank system correctly, for example they confuse the army ranks system wit the marines or air force or even mess up the pic that goes wit the rank, lol.

Anyway, here's my idea combining some of the more renown names from both the starcraft and warcraft universe. maybe even the diablo universe.

That was my idea combining renown names from both worlds. I'm not a expert on the SC world so i can't make a rank system involving both.

Definitely; we could re-use all of the D2 prefixes:

Code: [Select]
if(expansion) {
    switch(difficulty) {
    case 1: pretty += hardcore ? "Destroyer " : "Slayer "; break;
    case 2: pretty += hardcore ? "Conquer " : "Champion " ; break;
    case 3: pretty += hardcore ? "Guardian " : (female ? "Matriarch " : "Patriarch "); break;
    }
} else {
    switch(difficulty) {
    case 1: pretty += (female ? (hardcore ? "Countess " : "Dame ") : (hardcore ? "Count " : "Sir ")); break;
    case 2: pretty += (female ? (hardcore ? "Duchess " : "Lady ") : (hardcore ? "Duke " : "Lord ")); break;
    case 3: pretty += (female ? (hardcore ? "Queen " : "Baroness ") : (hardcore ? "King " : "Baron ")); break;
    }
}
It's like saying, "Hello, my name is Camel and I don't know what I'm talking about."

i dont think i like the idea of making levels for all the D2 chars like Slayer, Champion, Matriarch. I'll see what I can come up with for a list that integrates all games, or just one game, not sure yet.

and john, how come yours stopped at 31?

I don't think there should even be levels for D2. I think there should be just an overall ranking system for all members.

I mean that instead of having seperate ranking nomenclature for each game, there should be a universal system, especially since many people play more than one game, and it would be ridiculous to have people in different rankings for different games. As in, a person would be rank 15 in D2 but rank 30 in SC? That seems off.

oh. no thats not what we're saying here at all. just using the names of characters from different games as part of the universal ranking system. such as Peon (10), or Necromancer (18 ), Huntress (20).

camels idea was to reuse the D2 characters for most of the ranks, such as having Sorceress (10), Slayer Sorceress(18 ), Champion Sorceress(25), etc.
