~~BNU Elite Knights~~

The BNU Elite Knights will be a group of chosen players who will specialize in 1v1 matches on low-money KESPA and ICCup maps.

To join EK you will have to first become a recruit of BNU and then request entry into EK.

Thus you become an apprentice, and will have to face off in tournaments against other apprentices.

When you win a tournament, you have reached the next phase of the application process.

In this process, you have to win at least one game against a current EK member at any time in any fair 1v1 match.

After providing the replay, you will be admitted to BNU-[EK].

Only when you have been admitted do you get a BNU-[EK] name, like BNU-Example[EK].

The EK will have weekly pick-up tournaments which may become bracketed tournaments with enough members.

The EK will have a rating system based on a modified ELO rating system (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system).

All 1v1s between all EK members will count towards ELO.

Players will report their wins/losses against other members in their own page in the forum, which will be created once they join [EK].

Replays must be available for all matches if a discrepancy occurs.



All of this and more will be set in motion when we have more people.

I like the idea, but I have a question regarding the future of the EK.  I don't foresee it becoming a problem in the beginning, but what about members of BNU who amass many games on their record and wish to use their original BNU account?  However, I love the idea of the EK.

Well, the "Knights" used to be a squad of elite BNU'ers that would answer challanges from other clans and handle all of our "top notch" gaming level stuff.

Honestly, the knights of the time were really just better @ money maps than the rest of the clan. I look back on it now as a joke, but at the time they really were the best we had. I support the idea, but this means Fanatacist needs to load his BNU tag again.

Haha yeah, load his BNU tag and be in the channel pretty often lol. But I think its a good idea. I would like to do something like that for WarCraft 3 as well, but we need more people and its harder to recruit on warcraft.

Its not that hard, if you try. :-P I used to recruit all the time.

John, we want good people lol. You can't make custom games to get recruits because people who ladder don't look in there for games. And it's harder to get people when you meet them in a game, because either they kick your ass and don't want to join because you suck or you own them and you're like 'ahhh smurf it they suck'. Now I could resort to channel spamming but that's not really my style.

My old recruitment style was to join public games, game with them, then about 2 mins before it was over, say "hey I had fun gaming with you, wanna join my clan?"

you'd be surprised how fast our numbers grew doing that.

Hence why some of the earlier BNU sites were like 200-300+ members. Granted, you're absolutely right, most members were 'decent' but certainly not 'good' at starcraft. But honestly, BNU was never about awesome skills. We had a special internal group called the Knights that dealt with that. We just invited fun people to join so we could all have fun together. Some of them better at the games than others.

But no matter what happens, BNU ultimately isn't about skill, but the Knights or (Elite Knights) would be/are.

The thing is I'm not joining public games for it. Krayzie and I are trying to recruit people who play ladder games and at least have some skill. So we play Arranged Team games and see what we get there. We don't want people that are terrible and just play custom games. Of course it's okay if we have some of those, but we would like to build up some prestige here with people who can play ladder games. If we had 200+ members I wouldn't even worry about it, but we don't. Lol.

They can use their original accounts for regular play and play with other EK members on their EK name? The EK name is supposed to be a status type thing.

And yes the name EK comes from the original Knights, except this is more EXTREEEME so the team needs a new title.

BTW it would help a lot if I had ~swa (or is it ~sa now?) access to do this; I think I do but I'm not sure.

I already made BNU-Silence[EK] too. Going to start getting more BNU- active soon, Sgrigs I expect you to be my second-in-command while we get things started so you can make an [EK] account as well n_n
