Debates Section Rules/Regulations

1) No direct attacks against the poster/respondants.
-- Meaning: All posts should be related to the topic at hand, and not a flame fest.
2) No completely obvious racist/sexist remarks. This is a forum for facts, and debate, not a place for you to spread hate.
3) Please do not post 1 word posts or posts like "i agree". Explain your agreement, or disagreement.

i disagree. :-P

but seriously, i dont think we should have this forum. its just too much of an invitation for things to happen. just dont post any political smurf on the forums. we always have more of that than bnet related stuff, which is what this is for.

I disagree with Sorc, because with people like John, Camel, and DW on the forums, even without Hazard, there are bound to be disagreements in any subject, not just politics (like this for example xD). With DW around, politics is bound to come up anyhow. Instead of having the politics being in random sections on the forums where people like RD can just say something stupid and it would be okay since it's not in a specific "Debates" section, having this section creates a moderated environment that won't be poisoned by stupidity.

As per the forum rules fanat, please don't flame RD.Hes been trying very hard to actually do things in the clan, and I'd encourage him to grow rather than just write him off as 'annoying'.

Oh snap, not the rules!

He knows most of what I say is good natured, and we all know the things he says or has said at times, regardless of how much he puts into the clan. I stay by my words; it wasn't even a serious flame or anything.

Back on topic,

I don't see anything wrong with this forum. Sure, it requres pretty tight moderation, but I really do think it builds character and brings the clan closer together - isn't that what we want?
It's like saying, "Hello, my name is Camel and I don't know what I'm talking about."

Woot I support Camel, would made a pic of me saying that, but got lazy and didn't.

It seperates us in the moment, I believe, when we are arguing with each other over contrasting viewpoints. But, in the long run, if we can have such differences of opinion and co-exist well as a clan, that does make us stronger.

I suppose. And I guess I can say this firsthand, since I'm usually on opposite sides of any argument, being both Christian and conservative. And I guess no one hates me yet? haha

Exactly :] To me, having an opinion is a good thing, a sign of intelligence, even if it is the opposite of mine. I think many others in the clan feel similarly, and thus we can respect (to a degree) each other due to this maturity/understanding. It's having an opinion based on nothing or not having one at all that is the crime :P

Hahaha, funny you mention politics and me. I've actually leveled out a lot since you've heard from me last. I'm still passionate about my opinions, but I really don't like to initiate the discussions. Sorta came when a week into college a kid exactly like me had to turn everything into a political discussion. Insight of the moment was that politics REALLY got in the way of my social life. Glad to see this forum's still going. My brainchild has finally grown up *sniff sniff*.

If you REALLY want a decent political forum though, try this site

It's not really seperating us too much.. you just give your opinion and why you feel that way and thats. now if you debate like hazard, then there's bound to be some seperation

Well Hazard wasn't in the Clan anymore when all those famous arguments between him and whoever were going on. For some reason he came back here to continue the arguments

Wait WTF are we still talking about him? WTF am I talking about him?

Exactly. Projection --> Self-awareness --> Self-improvement. God that smurf was annoying. Insightful, but annoying. Look for me on Essembly though. I'm starting it up again for the hell of it. My name on there is Hu Tao.
